Her eyes are open and she has thin, gently arched brows, and a straight, narrow nose. Her mouth is closed in a slightly serious expression. She has a slender face and her hair is pulled back smoothly. Her shoulders and upper torso are suggested with simple outlines. Right: an older man’s head, drawn larger and with heavier shading, shown from a 3/4 angle. His eyes are narrow, with pronounced brow ridges. His broad forehead has soft shading indicating age lines. His nose is strong, and his cheeks have shading emphasising hollows and contours. A large, thick moustache and a matching area of facial hair on the chin are indicated with unshaded white shapes. The lips are hidden behind the moustache, with a suggestion of an open mouth beneath. The ear is visible and detailed, and there is faint indication of hair swept back over the head.
